Product Description This miniature DC vibration motor is a compact actuator designed to provide haptic feedback or tactile alerts. Based on the "pager motor" design, it features an integrated eccentric rotating mass (ERM) that creates a noticeable vibration when energized. Its wide operating voltage range (1.5V to 5V) makes it highly versatile for battery-powered applications. It is commonly used in wearable technology, notification alerts for handheld devices, and "bristle-bot" style educational robots.

  • Driving the Motor: Do not connect this motor directly to an Arduino or ESP32 digital pin, as the startup current may exceed the pin's limit. Use a small NPN transistor (like a PN2222 or BC547) and a flyback diode to switch the motor safely.

  • Mounting: To maximize vibration transfer, mount the motor body firmly to your project’s frame using a small drop of hot glue or a tight-fitting rubber sleeve. If the motor is loose, the vibration will be absorbed and feel "mushy."

  • Haptic Patterns: You can vary the vibration intensity by using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). This allows you to create different "feelings," such as a soft "heartbeat" pulse or a sharp "alert" buzz.

  • Bristle-bots: This motor is the primary component for "vibro-bots." Stick it onto a toothbrush head with a 3V coin cell battery, and the offset weight will cause the brush to scurry across smooth surfaces.
