Product Description The u-blox NEO-7M is a high-performance standalone GPS module engineered for rapid satellite acquisition and precise global positioning. It comes integrated on a breakout board featuring a large 25x25mm ceramic patch antenna for superior signal reception even in urban environments. Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • 9V Battery Use: Do not connect a 9V battery directly to the module. Always power the GPS module from the regulated 5V or 3.3V pin of your development board.

  • 18650 Cell: A single 18650 cell is an excellent choice for portable trackers. We suggest placing a 100uF electrolytic capacitor across VCC and GND to prevent resets during signal search.

  • IC & Capacitor Tip: GPS modules are sensitive to electromagnetic noise. Keep the module away from high-power WiFi antennas and switching DC-DC converters. For the best first-time fix, place the module under a clear sky for at least 5-10 minutes.
