  • The "Warm-Up" Period: At our Pimpri facility, we’ve observed that the MH-SR602 requires a "settling time" of about 30 to 60 seconds after power-up. During this time, the output might trigger randomly; simply ignore these initial pulses in your code using a delay() or a timer.

  • Delay Adjustment: The default delay is approximately 2.5 seconds. If your project requires a longer hold time, you can replace the on-board SMD resistor (labeled 'R9' on most boards) with a higher value, or handle the delay logic within your microcontroller software.

  • Lens Alignment: PIR sensors are most sensitive to motion across the field of view rather than motion directly toward the sensor. Position the module so that the expected path of movement crosses the sensor's "vision."

  • Interference Shielding: Avoid placing the sensor near heat sources (like radiators or incandescent bulbs) or in direct sunlight, as these can cause false triggers due to rapid IR changes.
