The KY-010 Module is designed for high-speed switching and reliability. Unlike mechanical switches, it has no moving parts, meaning it doesn't suffer from "contact bounce" or physical wear over time. The module features a standard 3-pin interface and is compatible with all major microcontrollers. When the gap is clear, the phototransistor receives the IR light and stays in one logic state; when blocked, it flips to the opposite state. This simple binary output is ideal for interrupt-driven code in robotics.
