Product Description
The GY-530 module is a compact breakout board that includes a 2.8V regulator and level-shifting circuitry, allowing it to be used directly with 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi. Its "Time-of-Flight" principle provides much higher accuracy than infrared proximity sensors, which can be fooled by dark-colored objects. The sensor is remarkably small, making it ideal for integration into drones, handheld devices, and compact robotic chassis.
Key Features
Surface Independence: Measures distance accurately even on dark or matte surfaces that typically absorb light from standard IR sensors.
High-Speed Ranging: Capable of performing a full ranging cycle in less than 30ms, enabling real-time obstacle detection for moving robots.
Eye Safe: The 940nm laser is a Class 1 laser source, meaning it is safe for the human eye under all operating conditions.
I2C Connectivity: Uses only two pins (SDA/SCL) for data, simplifying the wiring for complex projects with multiple sensors.
Programmable Modes: Supports various modes such as High Accuracy (for precise measurement) or Long Range (up to 2 meters).
