Product Description
The MAX30102 Heart Rate Sensor Module is an integrated pulse oximetry and heart-rate monitor biosensor. It combines two internal LEDs (Red and Infrared), a photodetector, and low-noise electronics with Ambient Light Rejection. This module is a significant upgrade over the older MAX30100, featuring a higher 18-bit ADC resolution and an integrated glass cover to protect the optics and minimize external light interference. It is widely used in wearable technology, such as fitness trackers and medical monitoring prototypes, due to its ultra-low power consumption and tiny form factor.
Key Features
Dual-Wavelength Sensing: Utilizes 660nm (Red) and 880nm (IR) light to calculate oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (BPM) via photoplethysmography (PPG).
High-Precision 18-bit ADC: Provides maximum signal resolution and minimal noise, ensuring reliable biometric data even with weak pulses.
32-Sample FIFO Buffer: Internal memory stores data points, allowing the host microcontroller to sleep longer and reducing the frequency of interrupts.
Integrated Temperature Sensor: Built-in sensor (±1°C accuracy) allows for temperature compensation during SpO2 calibration and heart rate measurement.
Robust Motion Resilience: Designed with a high Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) to filter out artifacts caused by minor movements during measurement.
