Power Source Requirements: The RS-555 is power-hungry. If using a battery, ensure it can handle high discharge currents. If using a DC adapter, we recommend a 12V 5A power supply to prevent the motor from stalling under load.
Speed Control: For precision tasks like PCB drilling, use a high-current PWM DC motor speed controller. This allows you to maintain torque while reducing RPM.
Flyback Protection: Because this motor has high inductance, always use a diode (like 1N5408) and a capacitor across the terminals when using a microcontroller or motor driver to prevent back-EMF from damaging your electronics.
Heat Dissipation: While the motor is robust, if you are running it at 24V or under heavy load for long periods, consider adding an external heatsink or ensuring forced air cooling to preserve the brush life.
