Product Description

This 1200TVL FPV Camera is engineered for low-latency video, ensuring that what the pilot sees in their goggles is happening in near real-time. It features Digital Wide Dynamic Range (DWDR) and Automatic Gain Control (AGC), which help the camera adjust quickly when flying from bright sunlight into dark shadows. Its lightweight and compact frame makes it easy to mount on various racing quadcopters or fixed-wing planes.

  • Ultra-High Resolution: The 1200TVL sensor delivers a crisp analog video signal, making it easier to spot thin wires or branches while flying.

  • Low Light Performance: With a minimum illumination of 0.01 Lux, this camera performs admirably in "Golden Hour" or dusk conditions where other cameras might lose detail.

  • Wide Input Voltage: Supports a range of 5V to 12V, allowing it to be powered directly from a flight controller's 5V rail or a small 2S–3S LiPo battery.

  • Global WDR: Effectively balances exposure in high-contrast scenes, preventing the sky from looking "blown out" while the ground remains visible.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • NTSC vs. PAL: Ensure your FPV Goggles or Monitor are set to the same signal system as the camera. If you see a rolling or black-and-white image, check if the camera is set to PAL while your goggles are in NTSC mode.

  • Power Filtering: FPV cameras are sensitive to electrical noise from the motors. If you see "lines" in your video during high throttle, add a Low ESR Electrolytic Capacitor (e.g., 35V 470uF) across your battery leads or power the camera through a dedicated LC Filter.

  • Lens Protection: The 2.8mm lens protrudes slightly. In a crash, it is often the first part to hit the ground. Use a 3D-printed TPU camera protector or ensure your drone's side plates extend past the lens.

  • Focus Check: If the image looks blurry out of the box, you can loosen the small locking ring on the lens and rotate the lens barrel slightly to achieve a sharp focus for your specific flying distance.
