Product Description

This Water Level Sensor is a simple analog sensor that works on the principle of variable resistance. As the water level increases, more of the parallel copper traces on the sensor board are submerged, leading to a change in the output voltage. This change is read by the Arduino's Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). The sensor is finished in a vibrant red PCB with high-conductivity traces, making it highly responsive to moisture and water depth.

  • Corrosion Prevention: Because this sensor uses exposed copper traces, electrolytic corrosion occurs when powered continuously in water. To prolong sensor life, power the VCC pin through a digital pin on your Arduino. Turn the pin HIGH only when you need to take a reading, then turn it LOW immediately after.

  • Calibration: Water conductivity varies based on purity. Always calibrate your code by testing the sensor in the specific liquid you intend to monitor to define your "Empty" and "Full" thresholds.

  • Anti-Slosh Logic: In tanks where water might move (slosh), use a "Moving Average" filter in your Arduino code to smooth out the readings and avoid false triggers.
