Unlike simple thermostats, the STC-1000 features a dual-relay output, allowing it to switch on a heater when the temperature drops and an exhaust fan or compressor when it rises too high. Its bright LED display and tactile buttons make it easy to program setpoints, hysteresis (return difference), and compressor delay protection, ensuring your equipment stays safe and efficient.

Prototyping & Engineering Tips (Robogears Exclusive)

  • The "Dry Contact" Rule: At our Pimpri workshop, we always remind makers that the relay outputs (5-8) are dry contacts (switches). They do not output 220V. You must loop your "Live" wire through the relay to power your heater or fan.

  • Hysteresis (F2) Logic: To prevent your relay from "chattering" (flipping on/off too fast), set a sensible Return Difference (F2). For an incubator, 0.5°C is common; for a room heater, 1.0°C or 2.0°C is better.

  • Sensor Extension: If you need to extend the NTC sensor cable, use high-quality shielded wire to prevent electrical noise from causing "Err" readings.

  • Safety First: Since this module operates on 220V AC, always ensure it is mounted inside an insulated enclosure and that all connections are tight to prevent sparking or short circuits.
