The Gold-AP55 is an "all-in-one" mini amplifier that combines wireless connectivity with high-wattage output. Its miniature footprint makes it ideal for building custom desktop speakers, bookshelf systems, or adding Bluetooth capability to legacy wired speakers. The board is designed with an emphasis on audio clarity, featuring LC filtering to ensure a clean, low-noise signal. It also includes an integrated heatsink and a protective acrylic shell to ensure safe and stable operation during long listening sessions.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Power Supply Matching: To achieve the maximum 50W per channel, use a 24V 5A DC power supply. If you use a 12V supply, the output will be limited to approximately 15W-20W per channel.

  • Speaker Selection: This board is best paired with 4-Ω to 8-Ω speakers rated between 30W and 100W. 4-Ω speakers will draw more power and provide higher volume, but may cause the chip to heat up faster.

  • Shell Assembly: The board comes with a protective acrylic shell. Ensure you tighten the copper standoffs securely to prevent the board from vibrating against the plastic at high volumes.

  • Antenna Orientation: If you mount this module inside a wooden box, keep the onboard PCB antenna away from large metal objects or thick wires to maintain a strong Bluetooth signal.
