Product Description
The I2C LCD Adapter is built around the PCF8574 remote 8-bit I/O expander chip. It is designed to be soldered directly onto the back of a standard character LCD. Once installed, it communicates with your microcontroller via the I2C protocol, significantly reducing wiring complexity and potential connection errors. The module includes an onboard potentiometer to fine-tune the display contrast and a jumper that can be removed to turn off the backlight manually, or it can be toggled via code.
Key Features
Pin Efficiency: Reduces the required pins from 6+ down to just 2 (SDA and SCL).
Address Jumpers: Features three solder pads (A0, A1, A2) that allow you to change the I2C address, enabling up to 8 LCDs on a single bus.
Integrated Contrast Control: The blue multi-turn trimmer allows for precise adjustment of character visibility.
Flexible Backlight: The black jumper allows for easy manual control, while the I2C library enables software-based dimming/toggling.
Standard 2.54mm Pitch: Perfectly aligns with the 16 pins of standard character LCD modules for easy soldering.
