The module features six output pins, including the critical DTR pin, which enables the "Auto-Reset" function required for programming Arduino boards without a built-in USB port. Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

RX to TX Rule: When wiring this to your microcontroller, remember the Cross-Over Rule: The TXD (Transmit) pin of the CP2102 must go to the RX (Receive) pin of your microcontroller, and vice versa. Connecting TX to TX will result in a communication failure.
Driver Installation: If your computer does not recognize the module as a "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge," you will need to download and install the official drivers from the Silicon Labs website. This is a one-time setup.
Programming Pro Minis: To program an Arduino Pro Mini, connect the DTR pin of the CP2102 to the DTR (or GRN) pin of the Pro Mini. This allows the Arduino IDE to reset the chip at the exact moment the upload starts.
Baud Rate Stability: While some converters glitch at higher speeds, the CP2102 is exceptionally stable at 115,200 baud and above. If you are experiencing "garbage" characters in your Serial Monitor, ensure that the baud rate in your code matches the baud rate selected in your terminal software.
