• The DC Blocking Capacitors: Always use electrolytic capacitors (typically $220\mu F$ to $470\mu F$) on the output pins (Pins 1 and 3) before the speakers. These block DC voltage from reaching your speakers, preventing "popping" sounds and protecting the speaker voice coils from burning out.

• Bridge Mode for Extra Power: If you only need one speaker but want it louder, use the Bridge-Tied Load (BTL) configuration. This doubles the voltage swing across the speaker, theoretically quadrupling the power output compared to a single-ended setup at the same voltage.

• Power Supply Decoupling: To prevent high-frequency oscillations or "humming," place a $100\mu F$ electrolytic capacitor and a $0.1\mu F$ ceramic capacitor as close as possible to Pin 2 (VCC) and Pin 4 (GND).

• Volume Control: Use a $10k\Omega$ or $50k\Omega$ Logarithmic (Audio Taper) potentiometer at the inputs to control the volume smoothly without overloading the preamp stage.

Disclaimer

Do not exceed the $15V$ maximum supply voltage, as this will result in immediate IC failure. When operating at higher voltages ($>9V$) with low-impedance speakers ($4\Omega$), the chip may get warm; ensure the circuit board has sufficient copper traces to help dissipate heat.
