Product Description

The 2S 5A BMS serves as a specialized monitor for your 18650 cells. It ensures that neither cell exceeds 4.35V during charging nor drops below its safe limit during discharge. This module features high-quality MOSFETs and a low-temperature coefficient board to maintain stable performance under load. Its compact, rectangular form factor allows it to be easily integrated or spot-welded directly onto a 2-cell battery pack.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Balance Wiring (MB Pad): The MB (or BM) terminal is the "Common" point between your two batteries. For the BMS to work, you must connect the negative of cell 1 and the positive of cell 2 to this pad.

  • Wiring Sequence: To prevent damage, always follow this order: B- (0V) → MB (3.7V) → B+ (7.4V). Ensure the cells are at similar voltage levels before assembly.

  • The Activation Charge: After first connecting the batteries, you might measure 0V at the P+/P- terminals. This is normal. Simply connect an 8.4V charger for a moment to "wake up" the board and enable the output.

  • Common Use Cases: This board is perfect for upgrading 7.4V toy cars, portable Bluetooth speakers, or creating a 2-series power source for an Arduino/ESP32 project.

Disclaimer

Do not use this module with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, as the voltage thresholds are incompatible. Never reverse the battery polarity, as it will permanently damage the protection IC.
