The 2-USB Power Bank Module is engineered to simplify the construction of high-capacity portable chargers. It supports simultaneous charging and discharging, allowing you to charge your phone while the power bank itself is plugged into a wall adapter. The board features a smart controller that manages the CC/CV (Constant Current/Constant Voltage) charging profile for the battery and then boosts that voltage to a stable 5V for the USB outputs. It typically includes a built-in flashlight LED that can be toggled via an onboard push-button.

  • Parallel Batteries Only: You can connect multiple 18650 cells to increase capacity, but they must be in parallel (B+ to B+, B- to B-). Connecting batteries in series will provide 7.4V+, which will instantly destroy the module.

  • The "First Charge" Wake-up: When you first solder the batteries, the module might show 0V at the USB ports. Simply plug a Micro USB charger into the input port for a few seconds to activate the protection IC and "wake up" the board.

  • Wire Gauge Matters: Use thick, short wires for the battery connections. At a 2A output, the battery can draw over 3A from the cells; thin wires will cause a voltage drop that triggers the "low battery" shutdown prematurely.

  • Heat Dissipation: While efficient, the board can get warm during 2.1A fast charging. Ensure your 3D-printed enclosure has small vent holes to allow for natural convection.
