Product Description & Technical Details

Product Description

The JQX-15F (T90) is a heavy-duty power relay designed for switching extremely high-current loads that standard "sugar cube" relays cannot handle. With a massive 30A switching capacity, this relay is an industrial workhorse commonly found in air conditioners, water heaters (geysers), UPS systems, and large motor controllers. Its robust 6-pin construction is designed specifically for PCB mounting, with thickened copper traces recommended to handle the high current flow on the load side.

Key Highlights

  • Industrial Strength Switching: Rated for 30A at 240V AC, making it suitable for appliances up to 7000 Watts.

  • Compact T90 Footprint: Despite its high power rating, it maintains a relatively small footprint for easy integration into power distribution boards and control panels.

  • High Dielectric Strength: Designed with superior insulation between the coil and the contacts to ensure safety when switching high-voltage mains.

  • Heavy-Duty Silver Alloy Contacts: Features specialized contact materials that resist arcing and welding under heavy resistive or inductive loads.

  • Reliable 12V Coil: Operates on a standard 12V DC trigger, allowing it to be controlled by 12V logic systems or via a transistor/driver from a 5V microcontroller.

Technical Specifications

  • Contact Resistance: ≤ 100m $\Omega$

  • Operate Time: ≤ 15ms

  • Release Time: ≤ 10ms

  • Insulation Resistance: 1000M $\Omega$ (500V DC)

  • Life Expectancy: 10,000,000 (Mechanical) / 100,000 (Electrical at rated load)

  • Dimensions: ~32mm x 27mm x 20mm

Prototyping & Installation Tip

Because this relay switches up to 30A, the PCB tracks connected to the Common (COM) and Normally Open (NO) pins must be very wide and thick, or reinforced with soldered copper wire/busbars. Failing to do so will cause the PCB traces to overheat and melt. When driving this relay with a microcontroller, you must use a flyback diode (like a 1N4007) across the coil and a transistor (like a TIP122 or a MOSFET) because the coil current is higher than what a GPIO pin can provide.

Note: This product is the JQX-15F (T90) Relay component ONLY. Driver circuits and PCBs are sold separately. Product images are for illustration purposes only.
