Product Description & Technical Details

Product Description The 12V IR Remote Control Relay Module is an all-in-one wireless switching solution that allows you to control electrical appliances using a handheld infrared remote. Unlike standard relay modules that require a microcontroller like Arduino, this module features a built-in IR receiver and decoding chip, making it a "standalone" wireless switch. It operates in Self-Locking (Latched) mode: press the remote button once to turn the relay ON, and press it again to turn it OFF. This is ideal for adding wireless control to lamps, fans, 12V LED strips, or electronic door locks without any programming.

Key Highlights

  • Standalone Operation: No external microcontroller is needed. The board handles the IR signal decoding and relay switching internally.

  • Handheld Remote Included: Comes with a compact, battery-powered IR remote control featuring a dedicated "ON/OFF" button.

  • Latched Switching Logic: Uses a "Push-ON/Push-OFF" mechanism, ensuring the relay stays in its current state until the next command is received.

  • Universal Load Support: The relay can switch both AC and DC loads up to 10A, providing flexibility for home or automotive use.

  • Integrated Indicator LED: Features a status LED that provides visual confirmation when the relay is energized.

Technical Specifications

  • Quiescent Current: < 10mA

  • Working Current: ~40mA (Relay energized)

  • Remote Battery: CR2025 or CR2032 (included in some batches)

  • Dimensions: 50mm x 20mm x 18mm

  • Mounting: Pre-drilled holes for easy installation in project boxes.

Prototyping & Installation Tip To ensure the best wireless range, the small black IR Receiver on the board must have a clear "Line of Sight" to the remote control. If you are housing the module inside a plastic box, consider drilling a small hole so the IR receiver can "see" the remote signal. Because this module is powered by 12V, it is perfect for camper vans, cars, or 12V solar systems. When wiring the relay, always remember that the relay acts only as a switch—it does not provide power to your appliance; you must wire the power source in series with the COM and NO terminals.

Note: This product includes the Relay Receiver Board and the IR Remote. Power supplies and external wiring are sold separately. Product images are for illustration purposes only.
