Product Description & Technical Details
Product Description
The 5V 2A Wireless Power Supply Module is a high-power inductive charging solution designed for applications where physical connectors are impractical or impossible to use. This kit consists of a transmitter circuit with an induction coil and a receiver circuit with its own matching coil. It uses electromagnetic field induction to transfer energy through air, plastic, or wood. Unlike standard low-power wireless modules, this version is capable of delivering up to 2 Amperes at 5 Volts, making it powerful enough to charge smartphones, power Raspberry Pi boards, or run high-torque DC motors in waterproof robotic projects.
Key Highlights
High-Current Output: Capable of delivering a steady 2A, which is significantly higher than standard DIY wireless charging modules, suitable for power-hungry electronics.
Fully Regulated Output: The receiver module includes a buck-boost or regulation circuit to ensure a stable 5V output even if the distance between coils fluctuates slightly.
Non-Contact Power: Ideal for sealed, waterproof, or dustproof enclosures where you cannot have an external charging port.
Broad Transmission Gap: Works effectively across a 2mm to 10mm gap. Note that thinner gaps generally yield higher current and efficiency.
Easy Integration: Simple two-wire input (Transmitter) and two-wire output (Receiver) make it a "drop-in" wireless power solution for any project.

Installation Tip from Robogears
For maximum efficiency, the transmitter and receiver coils must be aligned parallel to each other. If the coils are tilted or off-center, the power transfer will drop significantly. While the module can handle a 10mm gap, it performs best at 3mm to 5mm. Because high-current wireless transfer generates heat, ensure there is adequate ventilation or a small heatsink on the transmitter IC if you plan to draw a full 2A for extended periods. Do not place metallic objects between the coils, as they will interfere with the magnetic field and heat up rapidly due to eddy currents.
Note: This kit includes both the Transmitter and Receiver modules with coils. A 12V DC power source is required for the transmitter side. Product images are for illustration purposes only.
