Installation Tip from Robogears This board is designed for outdoor lighting; ensure the PIR sensor (the white dome) is exposed through a hole in your project enclosure for it to function. Connect the battery first before connecting the solar panel to allow the IC to initialize. Since this board does not have a separate light sensor, it uses the solar panel voltage to detect "night" (when the panel stops generating power). If your lamp stays off during the day even in "Always On" mode, this is a normal battery-saving feature.
