Product Description & Technical Details
Product Description
The 12V DC Plastic Electric Solenoid Valve is a reliable and efficient flow control component designed for automated water management systems. Operating as a Normally Closed (NC) switch, the valve remains closed until a 12V DC signal is applied, at which point it opens to allow fluid to pass. Built from high-quality engineering plastic and a durable internal diaphragm, this valve is designed for longevity in pressurized systems. It is an ideal solution for DIY automatic plant watering systems, liquid dispensing machines, smart bathrooms, and home automation projects. At Robogears, we recommend this valve for its fast response time and standard 1/2-inch threading which makes it compatible with most standard plumbing fittings.

Key Highlights
Instant Flow Control: Quick-acting electromagnetic solenoid opens the flow immediately upon receiving a 12V DC signal.
Normally Closed Safety: In the event of a power failure, the valve automatically returns to its closed state, preventing accidental water flow or leakage.
Corrosion Resistant: The plastic body is designed to handle water and low-viscosity fluids without rusting or degrading over time.
Standard Threading: Features 1/2" male threads for easy integration with standard PVC or metal pipe fittings.
Built-in Mesh Filter: Includes a removable stainless steel filter at the inlet to protect the diaphragm from debris and ensure consistent operation.

Installation Tip from Robogears
This is a pressure-driven valve, meaning it requires a minimum water pressure (0.02 Mpa) to open fully. It is not suitable for gravity-fed systems (like a tank sitting just above the valve) unless there is significant height or a pump involved. When installing, note the arrow on the body indicating the direction of water flow; installing it backward will result in leakage. For long-term use, ensure you use a 12V power supply with at least 1A current capacity to ensure the solenoid snaps open firmly every time.
