Product Description & Technical Details

Product Description

The nRF24L01+ PA + LNA Wireless Module is an ultra-long-range version of the popular nRF24L01+ transceiver. This high-performance module is equipped with a dedicated Power Amplifier (PA) for high-intensity transmission and a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for superior reception sensitivity. Combined with the included 2.4GHz SMA duck-antenna, this module can achieve reliable communication distances of over 1 kilometer in open space. It is specifically designed for industrial remote control, telemetry, and long-range robotics where standard PCB-antenna modules fall short. At Robogears, we recommend this module for users looking for professional-grade wireless stability and extended reach for their Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects.

Key Highlights

  • Ultra-Long Range: Capable of reaching up to 1.1km distance at a 250kbps baud rate in open-air environments.

  • PA & LNA Integration: The onboard amplifiers significantly boost signal strength and filtering, ensuring data integrity even through minor obstacles.

  • Low Power Consumption: Despite its high range, the module features advanced power management, drawing only 115mA during peak transmission.

  • Multi-Point Communication: Supports up to 6 channels of data reception (MultiCeiver functionality), allowing one master to talk to six slaves simultaneously.

  • Standard SPI Interface: Easily controlled by any microcontroller with an SPI port, making it highly compatible with global open-source libraries.

Installation Tip from Robogears

While the logic pins of the nRF24L01+ are 5V tolerant, the VCC pin MUST be connected to 3.3V. Connecting it to 5V will permanently damage the module. Because the PA+LNA version draws more current during transmission, the 3.3V pin on a standard Arduino Uno may not provide enough stable power, leading to connection failures. We strongly recommend soldering a 10$\mu$F to 100$\mu$F capacitor across the VCC and GND pins of the module to smooth out power spikes and ensure reliable long-distance pairing.
