Prototyping & Installation Tip (Robotics Bump Sensor)
For robotics applications at Robogears, use this as a Bump Sensor. Connect the COM (Common) pin to Ground and the NO (Normally Open) pin to a digital input on your microcontroller with an internal pull-up resistor enabled. When the robot hits an obstacle, the lever arm will trigger, pulling the pin LOW. To prevent "switch bouncing" (multiple false signals in a few milliseconds), add a small delay in your code or a 100nF capacitor across the switch terminals.
