The ULN2003 Motor Driver IC acts as a high-current "bridge" between logic-level devices and heavy-duty actuators. Each of the seven channels features an NPN Darlington pair with a high voltage rating and common-cathode clamp diodes for inductive load transient suppression.   • Heat Dissipation: Although each channel is rated for 500mA, the total package power dissipation is limited. If you are driving all seven channels at once, keep the current per channel below 150-200mA to prevent the IC from overheating.

  • Parallel Driving: To drive a 1A load, you can tie Input 1 and Input 2 together, and tie Output 1 and Output 2 together. This effectively doubles the current capacity while sharing the thermal load across two Darlington pairs.
