Product Description The Horizontal Float Level Switch is a highly reliable, side-mounted liquid level sensor designed for sensing the level of liquid within a tank. Unlike vertical sensors, this horizontal model is ideal for shallow tanks or containers where top-mounting is not feasible. It uses a magnetic reed switch mechanism: as the water level rises or falls, the float moves, triggering the internal switch to either open or close a circuit. Made from corrosion-resistant PP plastic, it is widely used in water dispensers, humidifiers, and DIY automated tank-filling systems.

  • 9V Battery Use: Do not connect a high-power water pump directly to the float switch and a 9V battery. The switch is only rated for 0.5A; a pump will burn out the internal reed switch instantly. Use the switch to trigger a Relay Module instead.

  • 18650 Cell: For remote tank monitoring, a single 18650 cell (3.7V) is perfect for powering an ESP32 or Arduino that monitors this switch. Use a 10k Ohm Pull-up Resistor to ensure a stable digital signal.

  • IC & Capacitor Tip: If the water surface is turbulent (wavy), the switch might "chatter" (rapidly turn on/off). Solve this in your code by adding a Debounce Delay (e.g., 500ms) or by adding a 10uF Capacitor across the signal pins to smooth out the transitions.
