The W1209 Temperature Controller is a complete intelligent thermostat that provides high-precision temperature sensing and control. The module features an onboard microcontroller and a tactile keypad that allows you to set the trigger temperature and various parameters like hysteresis, delay start, and high-temperature alarms. Its compact size and clear digital display make it easy to integrate into panels or enclosures, providing professional-grade thermal management at an affordable price point.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Power Stability: Ensure you provide a stable 12V DC supply. Using a low-quality adapter can cause "ghosting" or flickering on the display and erratic relay switching.

  • Hysteresis Management (P1): To prevent the relay from "chattering" (rapidly clicking on and off when the temp is exactly at the set point), set a hysteresis value of at least 0.5°C to 1.0°C.

  • Isolation: While the relay can handle high AC voltages, always keep the AC high-voltage wires physically separated from the 12V DC input side to avoid interference and ensure safety.
