Product Description & Technical Details

Product Description The Multi-Output DC-DC Voltage Converter Module is a highly convenient power distribution solution for complex electronic projects. Instead of using multiple individual regulators, this single board takes a 12V DC input and provides three of the most common voltage rails: 3.3V, 5V, and 12V simultaneously. It utilizes high-efficiency linear regulators to ensure stable, low-noise power delivery. This module is a favorite at Robogears for prototyping because it can simultaneously power an ESP32 (3.3V), an Arduino/Relay (5V), and a Cooling Fan or Motor (12V) from a single power source.

Key Highlights

  • Triple Voltage Output: Simplifies your wiring significantly by providing all standard logic levels on a single compact PCB.

  • Onboard Filtering: Equipped with SMD capacitors on each voltage rail to reduce electrical ripple, ensuring sensitive sensors get clean power.

  • Dual Input Options: Features a standard DC Barrel Jack for wall adapters and screw terminals/header pins for raw battery or DIY power connections.

  • Standard 2.54mm Headers: The outputs are arranged in clearly labeled 2-pin headers, making it easy to connect via Dupont jumper wires.

  • Red Power LED: Provides immediate visual confirmation that the input voltage is active and the board is distributing power.

Technical Specifications

  • Regulator ICs: AMS1117-3.3 and AMS1117-5.0

  • Input Interface: DC 5.5x2.1mm Jack or 2-Pin Header

  • Output Accuracy: ±1.5%

  • Dimensions: ~32mm x 30mm

  • Mounting: Two M3 compatible mounting holes for secure chassis installation.

Installation Tip from Robogears This board uses linear regulators (AMS1117 series). While they provide very clean power, they dissipate excess energy as heat. If you are drawing the maximum 800mA on the 3.3V and 5V rails simultaneously, the board will get hot. Ensure the module is placed in a ventilated area. Also, note that the 12V output is typically a pass-through from the input; if you supply 9V at the input, you will get 9V at the 12V terminal, not a boosted 12V.
