Product Description

The Mini AIO FPV Camera is engineered for simplicity and performance in small-scale aerial photography and racing. It features a cloverleaf or brass dipole antenna (model dependent) that provides a stable 5.8G signal for indoor and short-range outdoor flying. The module includes an onboard button for easy channel and band switching, with integrated LEDs to indicate the current frequency. Despite its tiny size, it delivers a vibrant color image and handles rapid transitions between light and dark environments—critical for flying through varied terrain or indoor obstacles.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Antenna Protection: The antenna is the most fragile part of an AIO unit. If you are using a cloverleaf version, apply a small amount of E6000 glue or Liquid Electrical Tape at the base of the antenna stem to prevent it from snapping off during a crash.

  • Power Filtering: While the unit can run on 1S power, electric motors can create "noise" in your video feed (appearing as horizontal lines). For the cleanest image, power the camera through a LC Filter or a dedicated 5V regulated pad on your flight controller.

  • Heat Management: These transmitters can get very hot if left powered on while the drone is stationary. Always ensure there is airflow over the unit. Do not leave the battery plugged in for long periods on the bench without a fan, as it may trigger thermal protection or reduce the lifespan of the CMOS sensor.

  • Frequency Matching: Ensure your FPV Goggles or Monitor are set to the exact same frequency (e.g., Band R, Channel 1 is 5658MHz). Being "close" to the frequency might show a picture at short range, but the signal will drop out completely once you fly more than a few meters away.
