• The "Center Pin" Secret: CRITICAL: Dell chargers use a 1-Wire protocol signal sent through the tiny pin in the center of the plug. If this pin is bent or the wire inside is broken, the laptop will display a "Plugged in, not charging" message. The laptop will run, but it will throttle the CPU speed to its lowest setting to save power.

• Connector Compatibility: Dell has two common "Round" pins. This one is the 4.5mm Small Pin (usually blue-tipped or very thin). It is NOT compatible with the older, larger 7.4mm Dell chargers. Always measure the outer diameter of your laptop's charging port before ordering.
