  • Stacking for 6V: Because they are so thin, two CR2016 cells are often stacked together in the space of a single CR2032 to provide a 6V output. If your device requires 6V but has a very small battery compartment, this "stacking" method is a common engineering trick.

  • Holder Compatibility: Be careful when using a universal 20mm holder. A holder designed for a CR2032 will be too "deep" for a CR2016, leading to a loose connection. Ensure your battery clips are tensioned correctly for a 1.6mm cell.

  • Low Current Logic: This battery is best suited for low-power "sleep" circuits or intermittent signal bursts (like IR remotes). It has a lower capacity (mAh) than the thicker CR2032, so it is not recommended for high-drain continuous loads like motors.

  • Handling with Care: Always hold the battery by the edges. Touching the top and bottom simultaneously with bare fingers can create a micro-short that drains the cell's limited capacity over time.
