The GY-53 is a high-performance Laser Time-of-Flight (ToF) ranging module that integrates the world-renowned VL53L0X sensor with an on-board microcontroller for simplified data processing. Unlike standard ToF modules that require complex I2C protocols, the GY-53 processes distance data internally and provides a direct output via Serial UART or PWM. This makes it exceptionally easy to interface with any microcontroller, including those with limited processing power. By measuring the actual flight time of individual photons, it achieves millimeter-level precision regardless of the target's color or surface reflectivity, making it a superior alternative to traditional infrared or ultrasonic sensors.
