The APM/Pixhawk Power Module V6.0 is a specialized power management unit designed to provide clean, regulated power to your flight controller while simultaneously monitoring battery health. This V6.0 version features integrated XT60 connectors for high-current throughput and a high-efficiency 3A Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC) that steps down your flight battery voltage to a stable 5.3V. By connecting this module between your LiPo battery and Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs), you gain real-time telemetry data regarding current consumption and voltage levels. This information is critical for Mission Planner or QGroundControl to calculate remaining flight time and trigger "Battery Failsafe" protocols, ensuring your drone returns home safely before the battery is depleted.

  • Mission Planner Calibration: CRITICAL: After installation, you must go to the Initial Setup -> Optional Hardware -> Battery Monitor screen in Mission Planner. Select "Sensor: Power Module," "APM Ver: Pixhawk," and "Battery Capacity: [Your Battery mAh]." If the voltage shown on your screen doesn't match a handheld multimeter, adjust the "Voltage Divider" value until they are identical.

  • Bypass the Servo Rail: Do not attempt to power high-torque servos directly from the flight controller while using this module. The 3A BEC is intended only for the flight controller, GPS, and telemetry radio. High-current servos should be powered by a separate dedicated BEC connected to the flight controller's servo rail output.

  • Vibration Isolation: Ensure the power module is secured to the frame and not vibrating against the flight controller. Mechanical noise from the thick battery wires can travel through the 6-pin cable and interfere with the flight controller's internal IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit).

  • Heat Dissipation: While rated for 90A, the module can get warm during long flights at high throttle. Ensure it is placed in an area with some airflow; do not wrap it tightly in foam or hide it deep inside a non-ventilated carbon fiber tube.

  • Connector Integrity: Regularly inspect the XT60 connectors for signs of heat (discoloration) or loose soldering. A power failure at this module during flight is a "single point of failure" that will lead to an immediate crash.
