Installation Tip from Robogears When connecting this to your microcontroller, remember the "crossover" rule: TX (Transmit) on the module goes to RX (Receive) on the MCU, and RX on the module goes to TX on the MCU. If your computer does not recognize the device, ensure you have downloaded the official VCP (Virtual COM Port) drivers from the FTDI website. Warning: Always verify the jumper position before connecting; providing 5V logic to a 3.3V ESP8266 can permanently damage the chip.
