Product Description The 3.7V 400mAh Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) battery is a high-performance, lightweight power source designed for space-constrained electronic applications. Unlike traditional cylindrical cells, this flat-pack battery offers a high energy-to-weight ratio, making it the industry standard for micro-drones (quadcopters), Bluetooth headsets, portable medical sensors, and wearable IoT devices. The integrated protection circuit (PCM) usually found in these cells helps prevent overcharging and over-discharging, ensuring a long cycle life and safe operation during high-drain maneuvers.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • USB Charging: This battery is perfectly compatible with the TP4056 Lithium Charging Module. Simply plug the JST connector into your board (or solder to the B+/B- pads) to create a USB-rechargeable device.

  • Voltage Regulation: While the nominal voltage is 3.7V, it will drop to 3.0V as it nears depletion. If you are powering an ESP32 or a 3.3V sensor, use a Low-Dropout (LDO) regulator to maintain a steady 3.3V rail.

  • Storage Charge: If you are not planning to use your drone or project for more than two weeks, store the battery at 3.8V to 3.85V (roughly 50% charge). Storing a Li-Po at 100% or 0% for long periods can cause it to "puff" or lose capacity permanently.

  • Physical Safety: Never puncture, crush, or subject a Li-Po battery to high heat. If the battery looks swollen or "puffy," discontinue use immediately and dispose of it at a designated battery recycling center.
