Product Description & Technical Details
Product Description
The 15cm 3dBi GSM/GPRS PCB Antenna is a high-performance, internal wireless solution designed for compact M2M (Machine to Machine) applications. This antenna is specifically engineered for modules that require cellular connectivity, such as the SIM800L, SIM900, and various 3G IoT gateways. Unlike external "rubber duck" antennas, this PCB patch antenna can be hidden inside plastic enclosures using its industrial-strength adhesive backing. The 15cm micro-coaxial cable provides the flexibility needed for optimal placement within a housing, while the standard IPEX (u.FL) connector ensures a secure, snap-on fit to your wireless board. At Robogears, we recommend this antenna for projects where space is limited but signal stability is critical.
Key Highlights
High Gain Performance: 3dBi gain ensures a stable and reliable cellular connection even in areas with moderate signal strength.
Dual-Band Support: Optimized to work across common GSM, GPRS, and 3G frequency bands worldwide.
Easy Mounting: Features a pre-applied 3M adhesive strip on the back for quick and permanent mounting inside non-metallic enclosures.
Compact & Flexible: The thin PCB profile and flexible 15cm cable allow for effortless integration into small-scale IoT devices.
Universal IPEX Connector: Standard u.FL (IPEX) termination allows it to snap directly onto most GSM/GPS/Wi-Fi modules without soldering.

Installation Tip from Robogears
For the best signal reception, do not stick this antenna directly onto metal surfaces, as metal will shield the signal and drastically reduce performance. Mount it on the inside wall of a plastic or wooden enclosure. Ensure the IPEX connector is snapped on firmly; you should hear or feel a "click." Because these connectors are delicate and rated for limited plug-in cycles, avoid frequent disconnecting and reconnecting to prevent damaging the socket on your GSM module.
