Featuring an on-board potentiometer, you can precisely calibrate the detection range to suit your specific project needs—whether it’s a line-following robot or an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser at your Pimpri facility.

  • Adjustable Sensitivity: Includes an on-board multi-turn potentiometer to fine-tune the detection distance from 2cm to 30cm, allowing for high-precision obstacle sensing.

  • Sunlight Warning: While the sensor has ambient light immunity, direct sunlight contains heavy IR radiation that can "blind" the sensor. For outdoor robotics, we suggest adding a small 3D-printed shroud or "eyelid" over the sensor to block top-down light.

  • Pin Safety: Ensure your VCC and GND connections are correct. Reversing the polarity can permanently damage the on-board LM393 comparator chip.

  • Code Optimization: Since the output is Active Low, use the digitalRead() == LOW condition in your Arduino code to trigger your obstacle avoidance maneuvers.
