Product Description The DM002 Micro Coreless Motor Set is a high-speed propulsion kit designed specifically for micro-drones, tiny-whoops, and ultra-lightweight RC aircraft. Unlike standard brushed motors, coreless motors feature a low-inertia rotor that allows for near-instantaneous acceleration and extremely high RPMs. This set comes as a complete 4-pack, featuring two Clockwise (CW) and two Counter-Clockwise (CCW) motors and matching propellers, providing the essential balanced thrust required for stable quadcopter flight.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Wire Color Coding: To identify rotation, Red/Blue wires generally indicate Clockwise (CW) rotation, while Black/White wires indicate Counter-Clockwise (CCW). Ensure you match these to the correct propeller type to generate upward lift.

  • Soldering Caution: Coreless motors are sensitive to heat. When soldering the thin wires to your flight controller, use a fine-tip iron and keep contact time under 2 seconds to avoid melting the internal plastic end-caps.

  • Propeller Mounting: The 0.8mm shaft is very thin. When pressing on the propellers, hold the motor by the metal casing, not the wires, to prevent the back-plate from popping off.

  • Cooling: Because these motors run at extremely high RPMs, they can get hot quickly. Avoid running them at 100% throttle for more than 2-3 minutes at a time to preserve the internal brushes.
