Product Description

This expansion board features a dual-interface design, allowing you to power your project via USB Type-C, Micro-USB, or a standard DC Barrel Jack. This flexibility is essential for high-power IoT projects where a computer's USB port might not provide enough current for multiple sensors or relays. The board also includes a Power-On LED indicator and a manual reset button, making it a complete workstation for ESP32 development.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Check the Width: This board is designed for the narrow version of the 30-pin ESP32. Before buying, ensure your ESP32's pin width matches the socket on this board; wide versions will not fit.

  • Jumper Configuration: Always set the 3.3V/5V jumper before connecting your sensors. Accidentally sending 5V to a 3.3V-only sensor can permanently damage it.

  • High Power Loads: If you are driving multiple Relay Modules or Vibration Motors, use the DC Jack with a 9V or 12V adapter. This utilizes the onboard regulator, which is more robust than drawing all power through the USB-C port.

  • GVS Wiring Rule: The headers follow a strict G-V-S (Ground, Voltage, Signal) order. Ensure your sensor wires are oriented correctly (usually Black for G, Red for V, and Color for S) to avoid short circuits.
