Product Description
The Uno R3 DIP is designed for durability and flexibility. Unlike the SMD version where the chip is permanently soldered, the DIP version allows you to swap the microcontroller chip into a standalone PCB once your project is finalized. It includes everything needed to support the microcontroller: a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, USB connection, power jack, ICSP header, and a reset button. It can be powered directly via a USB cable or through an external AC-to-DC adapter.
Key Features
Replaceable Controller: The DIP-28 chip is seated in a socket, allowing for easy replacement in case of an accidental overvoltage or for use in independent circuit boards.
Standardized Pinout: Fully compatible with all Arduino Uno Shields, including motor drivers, LCD displays, and Ethernet expansion boards.
Automatic Power Switching: Intelligently selects between USB power and an external power source (like a 9V battery or 12V adapter) without manual intervention.
Onboard Indicators: Includes status LEDs for Power (ON), Serial Communication (TX/RX), and a user-programmable LED on Pin 13.
Native USB Support: Features a dedicated ATmega16U2 (or CH340G, depending on the specific variant) for high-speed, stable USB-to-serial communication.
