Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Power Supply Recommendation: For maximum performance (especially for the 100W subwoofer), use a 24V 6A to 10A DC power adapter. Using a 12V supply will significantly reduce the bass output and overall volume.

  • Subwoofer Matching: Pair this board with a 4-ohm or 8-ohm passive subwoofer. If the subwoofer "pops" at high volumes, your power supply likely isn't providing enough current.

  • Frequency Tuning: Use the Sub-Freq knob to set where the bass starts. For smaller speakers, set it higher (~150Hz); for larger floor-standing speakers, set it lower (~80Hz) to let the main speakers handle more of the mid-bass.
