Calibration is Mandatory: At our Pimpri facility, we always remind makers that every MPU-6050 has a slight factory offset. Before starting your project, run a "Calibration Sketch" to calculate the offsets for your specific module and subtract them from your raw values.
The "GND" Connection: If you are using an Arduino, ensure the MPU-6050 shares a common ground with your power source. A "floating ground" is the most common cause of the dreaded "MPU-6050 connection failed" error.
Mechanical Mounting: For the best results in self-balancing robots, mount the sensor as close to the center of gravity (CoG) as possible. Avoid mounting it near high-vibration components like loose motors without dampening.
Pull-up Resistors: While most MPU-6050 modules have on-board 4.7k or 10k pull-up resistors for the I2C lines, if you have multiple sensors on the same bus, you may need to check the total resistance to ensure high-speed communication.
