Product Description
The A3144 is a high-sensitivity, unipolar Hall-effect switch designed for magnetic sensing applications in harsh environments. This integrated circuit includes a voltage regulator, Hall-voltage generator, small-signal amplifier, Schmitt trigger, and an open-collector output. When a South-pole magnetic field of sufficient strength is brought near the branded face of the sensor, the output pulls to a Low (GND) state. It is the industry-standard choice for non-contact switching, speed detection (RPM), and proximity sensing. Its solid-state construction ensures a virtually infinite life cycle compared to mechanical reed switches, making it perfect for automotive and industrial robotics.
Key Features
High Thermal Stability: Engineered to operate reliably in extreme temperatures up to 150°C, suitable for engine-bay RPM sensing.
Open-Collector Output: Allows for easy interfacing with 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers using a simple pull-up resistor.
Solid State Reliability: No moving parts mean no contact bounce or wear, ensuring high-speed switching up to 30 kHz.
Wide Voltage Range: Operates anywhere from 4.5V up to 24V, providing flexibility for industrial power rails.
Unipolar Operation: Specifically triggers on the South pole of a magnet, allowing for precise directional sensing.
