Product Description The 1.8V to 12V 2A PWM Speed Regulator is a compact and highly efficient module designed for the precise control of small DC motors and LED dimming applications. Unlike standard variable resistors, this controller utilizes Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to adjust speed, ensuring high efficiency and maintaining high torque even at lower speeds. Its ultra-low voltage compatibility makes it perfect for battery-operated projects using 3.7V Li-ion, 6V, or 12V systems.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Wiring Polarity: Double-check the "Power +" and "Power -" markings on the board. Reversing the input polarity can damage the control IC instantly.

  • Current Limits: While rated for 2A, if you are running the motor near the limit for long periods, ensure there is adequate airflow. If the motor stalls, the built-in resettable fuse will trip; simply disconnect power, remove the stall, and let it cool down to reset.

  • Input vs. Output: This is a regulator, not a converter. Your output voltage cannot exceed your input voltage. If you want to run a 12V motor at full speed, you must provide a 12V input.

  • LED Dimming: This module works excellently as an LED dimmer for non-inductive loads. Just ensure the total current of your LED strip does not exceed 2A.
