Product Description
The 5" HDMI Display is engineered for "plug-and-play" visual output. Because it uses a standard HDMI connection, it functions as a standard monitor without the need for complex SPI-based video drivers. The resistive touch layer allows for mouse-free navigation, and the module includes a dedicated touch pen for precise interaction with small UI elements. The back of the PCB features mounting holes specifically aligned for a Raspberry Pi 3, allowing the Pi to be "piggybacked" onto the screen for a compact, integrated unit.
Key Features
Superior Video Quality: Using the HDMI interface allows for a higher refresh rate and better color reproduction than GPIO-based SPI screens.
Universal Compatibility: Can be used as a mini monitor for PCs, TV boxes, or gaming consoles, provided you have a separate 5V power source for the screen.
Integrated Backlight Switch: Features a physical switch on the back to turn off the backlight, helping to save power in battery-critical applications.
Audio Support: Some versions include a 3.5mm audio jack or support audio over HDMI, allowing for a complete multimedia experience.
Low Power Consumption: Draws approximately 400mA–500mA, making it efficient enough to run off a standard Raspberry Pi power supply.
