  • Soldering Alignment: To keep the pins perfectly aligned during soldering, insert the headers into a solderless breadboard first, then place your PCB on top. This holds the connector steady and square.

  • Clean Breaks: For the cleanest results when shortening the strip, use a pair of flush cutters between the plastic spacers.

  • Space Management: If your project involves a display or a shield that needs to be plugged in and out frequently, the Right Angle version reduces the stress on the solder joints compared to a vertical header.

  • Polarity Marking: Since these are unshrouded, they can be plugged in backwards. Use a small dab of permanent marker or nail polish on Pin 1 of both the male and female connectors to ensure correct orientation every time.
