Product Description & Technical Details

Product Description The FY-12 Mini Digital Thermometer Hygrometer is a standalone, ultra-compact device designed for quick and easy monitoring of environmental conditions. Unlike sensors that require an Arduino, this is a "ready-to-go" unit with a built-in LCD screen. Its sleek, rectangular design features side tabs for "snap-in" panel mounting, making it a favorite at Robogears for integration into DIY egg incubators, cigar humidors, 3D printer filament dry-boxes, and greenhouse control panels.

Key Highlights

  • Instant Readout: Provides simultaneous display of both Temperature and Relative Humidity (RH) on a high-contrast digital screen.

  • Compact & Portable: Its tiny footprint allows it to be placed inside small containers where space is a premium, such as reptile terrariums or instrument cases.

  • High Reliability: Uses a built-in thermistor and humidity sensor that offers stable performance for long-term monitoring without frequent battery changes.

  • Battery Powered: Runs on two inexpensive LR44 button cells, ensuring the device stays on 24/7 without needing external wiring or power adapters.

  • Easy Installation: The snap-in design allows for a clean finish when installed into a rectangular cutout in plastic or wood enclosures.

Installation Tip from Robogears Since this unit has its sensors built directly into the housing (usually via vents on the back or sides), ensure that the back of the device has adequate airflow. If you are mounting it into a sealed box, make sure the vents are facing the environment you want to measure. For battery installation, slide open the rear compartment and ensure the LR44/AG13 cells are placed with the positive (+) side facing up. If the display becomes faint, it is a sign that the batteries need replacement.

Note: This product is a Standalone Device. It does not provide digital output pins for microcontrollers. Batteries are usually included but may vary by batch. Product images are for illustration purposes only.
