Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears
9V Battery Use: A standard 9V alkaline battery can power this pump for brief tests, but it lacks the current (Amps) for continuous high-lift pumping. For a reliable science project, use a 9V 2A DC Adapter.
18650 Cell: For mobile or portable projects, use two 18650 cells in series (7.4V) or three in series (11.1V). A 3S Li-ion setup (12.6V fully charged) provides the best performance for the R385.
IC & Capacitor Tip: To prevent the motor's electrical noise from resetting your Arduino, place a 100nF Ceramic Capacitor across the motor terminals and use a Flyback Diode (1N4007) if driving it with a MOSFET or Relay.
Related Products: We recommend pairing this with our Relay Modules, Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensors, and 10mm Silicone Tubing.

Do not submerge the motor in water. Ensure the power supply can handle the 2A startup current to avoid damage to the controller or power source.
