Product Description

The DM002 is more than just a toy; it is a STEM learning platform. The open-frame design allows you to see how the flight controller communicates with the four coreless motors. It features three speed modes, making it easy for beginners to start slow and increase agility as they gain confidence. The drone is capable of performing 360° flips and includes a "One-Key Return" function to assist with navigation.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • Motor Orientation: Pay close attention to the wire colors. The red and blue wire motors are for clockwise rotation, while black and white are for anti-clockwise. Swapping these will prevent the drone from taking off.

  • Extend Your Flight: To get the longest flight time possible (up to 15 minutes), you can disconnect the WiFi camera module when you are just practicing your piloting skills, as the camera transmitter consumes significant power.

  • Antenna Positioning: Ensure the small copper antenna on the flight controller is pointing slightly upward and is not blocked by the battery or wires to maintain the best possible signal range.

  • Propeller Prep: Use the included Props Pulling Helper (wrench) to remove propellers. Prying them off with your fingers can bend the thin motor shafts, leading to unwanted vibrations and unstable flight.
