The 33pF 50V Ceramic Disc Capacitor is a precision passive component designed for high-frequency applications and stable timing circuits. Featuring a small, resin-coated disc body, this capacitor provides low inductance and excellent reliability in a compact through-hole form factor. Because of its extremely low capacitance value (33 picofarads), it is the industry standard for "Load Capacitors" used with crystal oscillators in microcontrollers, as well as in RF (Radio Frequency) tuning and filtering stages. These capacitors are non-polarized, meaning they can be installed in any orientation, making them beginner-friendly for breadboard prototyping and professional PCB assembly alike.

Crystal Oscillator Load: CRITICAL: When using a 16MHz or 20MHz crystal with an Arduino (Atmega328P) or other microcontrollers, you typically need two of these 33pF capacitors. Connect one from each pin of the crystal to Ground. This "Load Capacitance" is essential to help the crystal start oscillating and maintain a stable clock frequency.
RF Filtering: In FM transmitters or radio receivers, 33pF capacitors are often used in LC (Inductor-Capacitor) "Tank Circuits." Because the value is so small, even a slight change in lead length can affect the frequency. Keep the leads as short as possible when soldering to maintain the intended resonance.
Decoupling High-Frequency Noise: While 0.1µF capacitors are great for low-frequency noise, 33pF capacitors are excellent at shunting ultra-high-frequency EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) to ground in sensitive communication lines.
