Product Description The ESP32 CP2102 30-Pin Development Board is a powerful, dual-core system-on-chip (SoC) designed for advanced IoT applications and wireless prototyping. This version features the modern Type-C USB interface for improved durability and faster data transfer, paired with the highly stable CP2102 USB-to-Serial bridge for seamless programming. With its integrated 2.4 GHz dual-mode WiFi and Bluetooth (Classic and BLE), this board is capable of handling complex tasks ranging from low-power sensor networks to heavy-duty web servers and voice encoding. Its 30-pin narrow form factor is specifically chosen to ensure it fits perfectly on a standard breadboard while leaving rows free for easy jumper wire connections.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

  • 9V Battery Use: You can power the ESP32 through the Vin pin using a 9V battery. However, since the ESP32 consumes significant power during WiFi peaks, a small 9V battery will drain quickly. For stable IoT projects, we recommend a 9V 2A DC Adapter.

  • 18650 Cell: The most efficient way to power this board for portable use is using a Single 18650 Cell (3.7V) connected to a TP4056 charging module with a 5V boost converter feeding the Vin pin.

  • IC & Capacitor Tip: If you experience random "Brownout" resets during WiFi connection, add a 1000uF 10V Electrolytic Capacitor across the 3.3V and GND pins. This provides a reservoir of current to handle sudden wireless transmission spikes.
